Driving our Customers’ Businesses Forward

Today we announced our Q3 results, including record third quarter ISG revenue and profitability, with record operating income of $1.8 billion. Revenue for the quarter was $27.4 billion, and we’ve grown revenue 6% year-to-date to $77 billion, as we continue to perform well by adapting, innovating and taking care of our customers and partners.
Earlier this year, we were among the first in the industry to see that the market landscape was shifting. Our sales force and large partner ecosystem enable us to get early feedback and insights from customers of all sizes and across geographies and industries. As we understand challenges early, we are able to adjust quickly to ensure Dell is best positioned to meet customer and partner needs. Even as organizations continue to face challenges like inflation and labor shortages, they are investing in technology to drive their business forward and we are here to help them.
Our customers need a trusted partner who can drive growth and productivity, no matter the environment. As a long-standing PC and infrastructure customer, we worked with Salesforce to create a consistent, flexible IT environment spanning multicloud, infrastructure and PCs to support Salesforce’s global growth across more than 60 data centers and 230 countries. We’re providing Salesforce with an on-premises platform built on Dell servers and more than 1,500 Dell storage systems – helping support Salesforce infrastructure. And in our “do from anywhere” world, Dell Latitude PCs offer Salesforce employees mobility in a hybrid work environment.
Multicloud solutions are helping our customers of all sizes globally to meet changing business demands. Take ServiceNow, one of the world’s largest cloud service providers. As adoption of its services grows, the company is working with Dell to create reliable cloud infrastructure built on Dell servers and storage, capable of scaling alongside increasing customers and customer workloads, and supporting ServiceNow as the company expands its business into new verticals. In China, Linde (China) Forklift Truck Corp., Ltd, a global manufacturing leader and a division of KION Group, built a smart factory in Jinan to meet increasing global demand for electric forklifts. The factory’s multicloud environment uses Dell PowerStore storage, PowerEdge servers and edge solutions to connect machines and devices, and process and store data at the edge from diverse workloads to support manufacturing automation, research, planning, ordering and data recovery. And in Brunei, telecommunications network provider Unified National Networks (UNN) is working with Dell and VMware to create a cloud infrastructure that delivers telecommunications and cloud services to local and international customers.
Done right, technology investments like a multicloud environment by design can help lower costs and combat the pressures of an inflationary environment. Texas A&M University, the sixth largest university in the United States, created a centralized IT platform for its Aggie cloud – improving student and faculty experience while reducing IT expenses and risk. APEX is also helping our education customers on their multicloud journeys. Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) is expanding its contract with us to include our APEX as-a-service portfolio. This can help deliver a better digital experience to MHEC’s 1,000+ member schools across 12 states and empower them with the modern IT and resources needed to advance their educational and research missions.
Continued innovation in areas like edge and telecom remains a priority. Our innovation engine is operating at strength, with 30 infrastructure launches in the last 13 weeks. Bringing together expertise from across our ecosystem, we’re working with Fujitsu to pave the way for communications services providers to design open networks with the technologies of their choice. We’re collaborating on Open RAN solutions and initiatives, including the integration of Fujitsu’s carrier-grade Open RAN compliant radio units with the Dell Open RAN Accelerator Card and a joint reference architecture. Claro Chile, a leading telecommunications provider in Latin America offering mobile networking, internet, television and IoT solutions, is building out the cloud infrastructure needed to deliver cloud services to people and businesses of all sizes across Chile through its service, Claro Cloud Empresarial. And Ooredoo, a Qatari telecom company, is delivering smart solutions to government and private sector companies to enhance their IT infrastructure.

The University of Queensland (UQ) is a perfect example. With Dell, NVIDIA and AMD, UQ is using its Bunya supercomputer to solve some of the world’s most complex problems, including working towards a treatment for Alzheimer’s disease, accelerating drug design and working on renewable energy technologies. UQ is consolidating its three legacy HPC systems into Bunya as one scalable platform that can support AI and machine learning and deliver sustainability benefits such as lower power consumption.
The Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) is using Dell PowerStore and PowerMax to drive the rapid processing needed to sequence billions of genomic markers faster and translate genomic discoveries into treatments for cancer, Parkinson’s and other deadly diseases.
And Fulton County, Georgia’s most populated county and home to the City of Atlanta, is enhancing its IT strategy and data center responsible for providing critical government services, such as emergency response programs, health and business services, voting and other benefits to citizens.
