US. State Department Awards ServiceNow IT Modernization Contract

Just as we’ve seen in the private sector worldwide, digital transformation is becoming a public sector imperative. Federal agencies are digitally transforming themselves to modernize, increase efficiency and deliver better experiences for their employees and the citizens they serve. To do so, they are modernizing their IT infrastructure and moving to cloud based services and platforms. Recently, the U.S. State Department awarded ServiceNow a contract to provide cloud-based, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions that are critical to retrofitting the agency’s legacy systems, which were a barrier to adopting a  public cloud.

ServiceNow is a strategic partner to the federal government as it modernizes its IT infrastructure and moves to cloud-based services and platforms. Over the past five years, nine different State Department bureaus have chosen ServiceNow for modernizing their business processes.

Expediting cloud migration

As ServiceNow is one of the State Department’s standard platforms for cloud-based service management and business application modernization, the contract will allow the agency to continue its migration to cloud services. Our scalable solutions are configured to meet central data reporting mandates and also adhere to FedRAMP moderate security controls, which are required in the State Department’s movement to the cloud.

We are pleased to expand ServiceNow’s already significant relationship with the State Department, and will place a greater focus on optimizing user experience and cost savings. In addition, ServiceNow will provide the agency with a platform to accelerate its modernization process. For this contract, Carahsoft, The Trusted Government IT Solutions Provider™, will serve as our reseller, which will make ServiceNow’s best-in-class solutions available to the entire agency.

Making modernization a reality for all federal agencies

The State Department’s decision to replace its legacy systems with modern cloud-based solutions demonstrates the digital transformation that is happening across the federal sector. Further supporting the federal government’s adoption of modern cloud-based solutions, ServiceNow and Microsoft just announced an alliance to deliver ServiceNow digital workflows through Microsoft’s Azure Government Cloud.
