Snowflake and Dell Partnership Gains Momentum

The catchy slogan “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” won’t apply to Dell and Snowflake’s new integrated solution as it makes its very public debut at Dell Technologies World on May 22-25 before making its way to customers all over the world.

The new offering marks a co-innovation milestone for the two companies as they continue their journey together to simplify access and accelerate data insights for customers operating in multicloud environments.

Almost a year since the landmark partnership announcement,  Dell and Snowflake are making good on their commitment to help customers meet the increasing demand for cloud-based solutions in the digital era. The joint solution, which has gone from private to public previews, enables Dell and Snowflake customers to use on-premises data stored on Dell object storage with the Snowflake Data Cloud while keeping their data local or seamlessly copying it to public clouds. As a result, customers can gain greater flexibility operating in multicloud environments, meet data sovereignty requirements and easily turn data into insights.

In addition to showcasing the solution to the public at the 2023 Dell Tech World Hands-on Lab Demo area, the two companies have co-published a new white paper, “Enable Hybrid Analytics with Dell ECS and Snowflake”, to help customers maximize on-premises Dell ECS investments for multicloud business intelligence with the Snowflake Data Cloud and cloud adjacent data centers powered by Faction.

Through the new white paper, customers can learn how they can seamlessly move, manage and store data between on-premises and cloud environments while taking advantage of Snowflake’s cloud-based platform for processing and analytics. With its ability to scale to meet the needs of any size organization, the integrated solution provides flexibility to adapt to changing requirements without having to reinvest in additional infrastructure. It also addresses concerns around data localization regarding data movement outside of a region or on-prem data stores, while at the same time allowing customers to bring cloud native processing capabilities to the data. Additionally, having the data in a cloud adjacent data center like Faction provides greater data resiliency and the ability to access data from any of the public clouds.

“As we enter the second year of our partnership with Dell, we look forward to building on this momentum and expanding our joint go-to-market efforts with a fully validated and integrated solution that empowers customers to optimize their multicloud journey and digital transformations,” said Christian Kleinerman, Snowflake Senior Vice President of Product. “We’re excited to demonstrate the performance, simplicity and collaboration capabilities of our combined solution at Dell Technologies World, where our customers can witness the value they can achieve from their on-premises data with Snowflake’s platform firsthand.”

The Snowflake partnership was Dell’s signatory entrance into the data management space. Since then, Dell has released a host of other data management partnerships with the top data solutions to create an ecosystem for data management solutions that works alongside our leading infrastructure offerings. By providing flexible data platforms that help you innovate with your data – wherever it resides – this ecosystem further helps our customers unlock the value of their escalating amounts of siloed data across multicloud environments.

The unveiling of the integrated solution at Dell Technologies World and new white paper highlights the ongoing commitment and shared vision of both companies to deliver innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of customers in the digital age.
