As a member of Generation Z, I know that having access to the newest and most cutting-edge technology on the market is going to put me ahead.  I’m certainly part of the 80% of my demographic who want to work with the best tech products on the market.

This Friday, millions of Gen Z’s will head to the Web to find the tech products that are going to help put us ahead – and to take advantage of the fantastic deals while doing so.  As a self-proclaimed tech nerd, I’ll definitely be part of this group – I’m always hunting for a tech product that I’m not only going to get a ton of use from, but that will help me understand what the world might be like once Gen Z’s are in established roles in the workplace.

That being said, here are my top 3 picks for my Gen Z counterparts from Dell’s 2018 Black Friday deals.

1. XPS 13 Laptop: I was fortunate enough to attend SXSW in Austin, TX a few months ago, and my jaw dropped when I saw the debut of the XPS 13. With up to 19.5 hours of battery life and one of the thinnest & lightest computers on the market, the XPS 13 is the computer you’ll get the most from.  People like me who are hunting for jobs, collaborating on group projects, or spending too much time on social media will appreciate the endurance and durability of the XPS 13.

   While I wouldn’t consider myself to be a “gamer,” you can bet on Gen Z’s being more invested into the gaming market than any generation ever to walk this planet. The eSports world is on track to grow by almost 50% and reach $1.65 billion in market value by 2021 (https://www.statista.com/statistics/490522/global-esports-market-revenue/), and open-sourced “battle royale” games like Fortnite are taking the demographic by storm.  And with capabilities for virtual reality (VR), who wouldn’t want to explore a bit?!  Not to mention, the Aurora’s price will be slashed by $490 on Black Friday!
3. Ultimate Ears BOOM 2 Bluetooth Speaker: I’ve had great experiences with UE products, but in my opinion, you can’t come close to the innovation in sound systems that UE BOOM 2 has given us. It has 360-degree sound, waterproof, and it’s got an app (check, check, check…or “boom,” if you will).  Have a friend (or, actually, up to 150 friends) with UE speakers?  Connect each speaker to each other over Bluetooth, spread them out over the room, and you’ve got yourself the most full-sounding party you could ask for.  We’ve heard time and time again (Gen Z’s, especially) that we live in a “connected” world, and there’s no better example of that than the UE BOOM 2.

When buying a gift for your Gen Z friend (or your Gen Z self), keep in mind that our generation appreciates every opportunity to “keep up” with the best technology on the market.
